How to Use Your Pump Buddy

We're excited to announce our new version of the Pump Buddy! After many conversations with customers who have used their Pump Buddies in a variety of circumstances, we've made some improvements that will make this feeding pump carrier even more versatile.

Let's learn how to use it!

How to Setup Your Pump Buddy

Your Pump Buddy has finally arrived. Yay! Let's walk through the steps of setting it up.

What is included?

Your Pump Buddy comes with a few accessories to allow you to customize your experience: 2 syringe clips, an elastic with plastic tab, and a nylon screw.

First - The Pump Buddy

Your Pump Buddy comes packed with features! Our favorite is that you don't have to use any of the accessories. That's right - all you have to do is slide the feeding pump and feeding bag into their respective slots and you're ready to go! Our second favorite feature is the tubing slot on the right-hand side. Sometimes the tubes from the bag can become unwieldy. With a few loops around your hand, you can easily slide the tubing into that angled slot and you won't have to worry about tripping over it as you walk from the kitchen to the family room.

The Syringe Clips

Your Pump Buddy also includes 2 syringes clips that are designed to hold either a 60ml syringe or a 10ml syringe.

You can fit slightly smaller syringes, such as a 35ml or 20ml syringe, into the larger syringe clip. However, if you intend to use it with a smaller syringe for an extended period of time, we recommend adding a bit of 3M sticky back foam padding for a better experience.

Once you have decided which of the 2 syringe clips you wish to use with your Pump Buddy, located the long slit on the upper left-hand side of your Pump Buddy. Slide your selected syringe clip into the slot.

Once you have slid the syringe clip into the slot, give it a little wiggle to make sure that it has fully seated into the hole. If there is a significant amount of movement, trying pinching the syringe clip so as to completely press the locking ridge into the slot.

The Elastic

Also included with your Pump Buddy is an elastic that can be attached to your new feeding pump holder which will then help secure the feeding bag.

To begin, grab your Pump Buddy and stand it upright.

Then grab your elastic and pinch together the end that does not have the plastic tab on it. This will create a small loop.

Locate the elastic hole which is located on the left-hand side of your Pump Buddy, below the syringe clip. With the elastic in one hand and your Pump Buddy in the other, slide the elastic into the hole. Pull the elastic about half way through.

With the elastic half way through the hole, grab the plastic tab on the opposite end of the elastic. Slip that end of the elastic through the looped end of the elastic.

Once the plastic tabbed end of your elastic is through the looped end, pull the plastic tab away from the Pump Buddy to cinch it down.

Adding your Infinity Pump

Once the syringe clip and elastic are attached to your Pump Buddy, you can slide your Infinity Feeding Pump in.

Sliding the Pump In

All you need to do is detach any screws that may be on the back of your Infinity pump and then you can slide the pump in with ease.

Ready to go!

With the syringe clip, elastic, and feeding pump attached to your new Pump Buddy, you're ready to begin tube feeding!

EXTRA - The Security Screw

In addition to the elastic, your Pump Buddy also comes with another item that will help further secure your tube feeding supplies - a thumb screw. This screw is not required, but many have shared with us that they like the added sense of security that it provides, especially when walking and traveling.

Attaching the Security Screw

Turn your Pump Buddy around so that the Infinity Pump is facing away from you. Locate the small hole on the back of your Pump Buddy that is above the speaker hole.

Tightening the Screw

Simply place that screw in the hole and begin twisting to the right. Twist until the screw stops moving.
